Gifts Thursday, Dec 10 2009

The holidays are upon us and many are in the ‘gift’ mode.  What gift do I want?  What gift should I get for my friends?  Oh boy, what will I get my family members?  My Dad is the hardest…he has everything!

So, we take the journey to the mall to see what ‘gifts’ we can find.  If you are like me, you get drawn in by the pretty displays: bright, shiny, and colorful.  Sometimes it is fun, and sometimes a trip to the mall sucks all the energy out of my body.  It can be exhausting!  Just to find the perfect gift.

What is the perfect gift anyhow?  Have you ever considered that the one perfect gift you have been looking for is YOU?!?  You know God didn’t make any mistakes.  He didn’t make extras of us just incase he discovered a flaw.  There are no flaws.  We are perfect just the way we are.

Your smile might be the only smile a stranger gets today: that is your gift to humanity.  I invite you to go through your holiday traditions knowing that you are one of the greatest gifts there is!  We all are!  Be blessed in the presence of others this year and enjoy the gift that each one of us is.

Share with me how YOU are a gift this year.  I really want to hear from you so I can share your stories to inspire others.  Email me at Sue@SueLemus.com or comment below.  Be well my gifts!

Rampage of Gratitude Saturday, Nov 21 2009

I have another experiment for you.  It’s called “A Rampage of Gratitude”.  We just did this in San Diego during an advanced training with Jack Canfield. Take 5 minutes out of your day and go on a rampage of gratitude.  Give thanks to everything and anything you see.  “Thank you beautiful blue carpet that I walk on so my bare feet don’t have to be cold”  “Thank you to the person in China that dyed the carpet blue and wove it together”  “Thank you Michael Kors for designing my boots I love” “Thank you to the lady in Italy who sewed my boots together” “Thank you lovely palm tree for being so tall and providing shade” “Thank you birds who sing songs to me”

Get the idea !?!

Then try this “Thank you Mr. Insane driver who just cut me off, now I can slow down and be safe myself” “Thank you store clerk who is taking too long, it allows me to stand in line with patience and breathe” and this one is tough…”Thank you my professor for all the work you give me so I can expand my knowledge and have many opportunities”.

Try it!  See if between now and the next time we speak you can come from a place of gratitude.  Do your daily 5 minute “Rampage of Gratitude” and see if you notice a difference in your outlook.  Don’t forget to start with the easy stuff like the people who inspire you then move on to those people or situations that are more of a challenge.  If you are consistent with this I bet you the sun will shine brighter and your day will be happier!  I know it has helped me.  Let me know…I can’t wait to hear how it goes!
